Ambre sultan, a unique, resinous fragrance, is symbolic of the Collection Noire by Serge Lutens. This fragrance evokes a piece of amber resin that Serge Lutens stumbled upon at a bazaar in Marrakesh. It was forgotten in a thuja wood box and rediscovered years later. Its scent represents a return to the true identity and authenticity of the raw materials used. This nonoriental, but rather Arabic fragrance, typical of Lutens, does not fit into any category. 'I had found a scented wax at the bazaar and had forgotten it for a long time in a wooden box. However, this amber only became Ambre sultan after I recomposed its scent: In addition to these tarry labdanum leaves that stick to the fingers, another component was added that no one could have imagined at the time: Vanilla.' Serge Lutens. A perfume line created by Serge Lutens in his own image. Minimalistic, straightforward, angular, and uncompromising, each of his flacons reflects the urgency and character of its creator with its absolutist purity.
