Great fabric but thinner than I thought and very wide waist

I know Reima is made larger (basically ready for a size to grow), but the waist of these pants was large and the fabric thin. We love them with our Reima wool base layers, but I was somehow expecting thicker pants to wear as is to go to the park on a fall...
