This helps to prevent tunnelling and ensures a smooth, clean burn. Always place the candle on a heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, and never leave it unattended while lit. Extinguish the candle when 1/2 inch of wax remains and avoid burning for more than 4 hours at a time.
