"I wanted isla to be something more than just a nail salon. My background is fashion, so I wanted to create more of a community space that combined beauty with fashion and music. The community aspect is borrowed from skater shops, which have a community-driven approach. Women didn’t really have their own dedicated spaces at that time. It’s always been about giving back – getting people together and creating opportunities.""I wanted isla to be something more than just a nail salon.
